Deflow was born in Zarautz, in the heart of Basque surfing, created by a group of surfers passionate about making efficient and beautiful fins. The Artist Series is their way of taking that duality to the extreme: fins that work in the water and that you'll want to have on the wall when you aren't surfing.

Ciel Glue is a French collage artist based in Baleal, Portugal. His work is deeply influenced by his love for surfing and the ocean, which he discovered at age 11. After 15 years working in graphic arts in Paris, he moved to Portugal to connect more deeply with surf culture and the coastal environment. His collages combine vintage images from magazines, books, and colored paper to create works with a timeless and nostalgic energy—exactly the same energy that permeates classic longboard surfing.

USE AND CARE

• Installation — Insert the fin into the US Box and adjust the position. Tighten the screw with the appropriate key. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the box.
• Positioning — On a classic longboard, position the fin centered in the box as a starting point. Moving it forward provides more freedom of turn; moving it backward increases traction and aids noseriding.
• Design care — The Ciel Glue illustration is laminated onto the fiberglass. Avoid direct impact on the fin's surface and rinse with fresh water after each session to preserve the collage colors.
• Storage — Store in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the integrity of the laminated design.
• Inspection — Periodically inspect the fiberglass lamination and the surface of the illustration. If any cracks appear, stop using the fin.
