WHY THIS WAX MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

The difference between the right wax and the wrong wax for the water temperature is noticeable from the very first turn. Too soft in warm water and it melts, messes up the board, and loses grip. Too hard in cold water and it doesn't create the necessary texture. Range Wax Cool, with a hardness of 3/5, is the calibrated formula for that sweet spot: warm water that requires a wax with more structure without being rigid.

Cool is the wax for the summer in the north. In July and August, when the Cantabrian water reaches 18°-20°C, the Cold version gets too soft and smears. The Cool holds up to that temperature with its 3/5 hardness, maintaining texture and grip throughout the entire session. If you surf in Galicia, Asturias, or the Basque Country in summer, or in the south of Spain and the Canaries almost all year round, this is your wax. To apply it correctly: base coat first, then thin layers of Cool with circular movements until you get the desired texture. A wax comb between sessions extends the life of the layer without the need to add more wax.

HOW TO USE AND CARE

• Base coat — First apply a base coat on a clean board. If you already have a base, go straight to the grip layer.
• Grip layer — Apply Range Wax Cool with circular movements until you create a uniform texture, then cross diagonally to increase grip. Several thin layers grip better than one thick layer.
• Water temperature — Use Cool in water between 18° and 23°C. Below 18°C, the 3/5 hardness may not create enough texture — in that case, use Cold.
• Maintenance — A wax comb reactivates the texture between sessions without the need to add more wax.
• Storage — Keep the bar out of the car in summer — the accumulated heat inside can soften any wax, even the Cool.
• Removal — To remove old wax, leave the board in the sun for a few minutes to soften it and use a wax scraper. Clean the residue before applying new wax.
