Bureo, a Californian company, works directly with fishing communities: the nets are sorted, cleaned, and shredded to be recycled into NetPlus, a post-consumer material with full traceability. This program keeps hundreds of metric tons of nets out of the ocean every year and provides supplemental income to coastal communities.

Hidden under every brim are more than 23 grams of recycled fishing net. Through the sale of NetPlus brims, Bureo supports coastal communities by funding environmental projects alongside local non-profit organizations.
