Mike Stewart was born in Hawaii in 1963 and has been in the water since the modern bodyboard began to take shape. He won nine world titles between 1983 and 1995, has won the Pipeline event a record eleven times, and is the only non-stand-up surfer to have received the title of Mister Pipeline. In 1987, alongside Ben Severson, he was one of the first to surf Teahupo'o, long before the Tahitian wave became a destination on the world tour. USAGE AND CARE

• Before getting in: check that the wrist leash is securely fastened. Apply wax to the deck if conditions require it to improve grip.
• In the water: the Crescent tail and Slotted channels work best with your body well-centered on the board. In the tube, flatten your position to gain exit speed.
• After the session: rinse with fresh water, especially channels and rails, to remove salt. Air dry in the shade—the PE core is sensitive to prolonged heat.
• Storage: store the board in a bag or a place protected from direct heat. Avoid leaving it in the sun inside a car or trunk during summer.
• Transport: do not bend or press the board forcibly—the stringers can suffer permanent damage.
