"Eugene" is Mick Fanning's alter ego pad, designed for small-wave boards with a wider, squarer template. Mick developed it for his unconventional shapes: fish, twin fins, and the fresher designs he has been testing. In Mick's own words: "The Eugene pad is a bit wider, has a slightly larger kick, and fits boards with a bit of a wider tail. Perfect for a groveler or something more fun than your day-to-day board."

The Mick Eugene Fanning Signature has no perforations, which guarantees continuous and reliable traction across the entire surface of the pad—especially important on higher-volume boards where the foot seeks a larger support area and cannot rely on localized grip zones.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR SURF GRIP

• Rinse the pad with fresh water after each session to remove salt and sand that can degrade the adhesive over time.
• Before applying to a softboard, clean the tail thoroughly with a dry cloth—the 3M adhesive is compatible with the EVA material of softboards, but the surface must be clean and dry.
• Avoid folding or rolling the pad before applying: the Dual Layer construction can lose its shape under prolonged pressure.
• Do not expose the pad to direct sunlight for long periods without a board: extreme heat can alter the EVA foam structure.
