SYNOPSIS
Erik Martín, the pioneering surfer from Sietepiedras, is stunned when he returns to his hometown after spending eleven years lost in Indonesia, searching for pristine waves. As he tries to adapt to new changes, a series of unforeseen events forces him to rethink his life, all as events accelerate until he is backed against a wall.
Finding refuge in the waves and marijuana, at first he finds no other defense than to behave like the wild surfer he was during his time in the jungle, but one day everything explodes in his hands, and things will definitely never be the same again.
This is a story about the struggle between two opposing ways of conceiving surfing: the modern, rapidly expanding one that knows no bounds, and the pure, spiritual one, connected to nature. A novel of resistance, identity, and passion for the sea.
AUTHOR
Jose Pellón Martín is a surfer, musician, and writer from Cantabria. Known for being the lead singer of the band Melopea and author of one of the most recognized surfing guides in Spain, Pellón presents with the El Amante de Olas trilogy a unique literary work that combines surfing, counterculture, and social critique.
